Former Georgia Republican Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan, in an infamous RINO, officially switched to the Democratic Party in 2024, citing growing difficulty doing “the right thing” as a Republican, emphasizing the second amazement, where he claims the GOP ignored public demand for gun control.

For context, after criticizing Trump and endorsing Kamala Harris, Duncan says, “loving my neighbor is easier now.” Welcomed by Democrats, he hasn’t ruled out running for governor in 2026, saying he’ll seriously consider it if Georgians want leadership that turns “chaos into conversations.”

In any case, Duncan gave a series of self-interested media interviews where he explained his decision to switch parties. “That was the lens I looked through,” he began, “As I got elected starting in 2013 as a state representative, and then as lieutenant governor, it just became so hard at times to try to figure out the right way to do the right thing, as a Republican.”

Turning to tired woke talking points. Duncan rattled off the DNC boilerplate. “Politics is not easy for any party. But for me, it was just a series of events. Starting with how Republicans treated guns. Every time we had a gun conversation, it was kind of: neglect what the masses want. And that’s some sort of gun control,” the former Lt. Governor asserted.

Making it clear that he cared more for popularity than principals, Ducan said, “You know, there was a lot of folks that used to wave at us driving down the street, neighbors and friends, who stopped waving, but to the flip side, there’s a lot more that started opening up their eyes and talking to us and cheering us on.”

Doubling down on his treachery, the newly minted Democrat claimed, “I have been receiving phone calls and conversations and cups of coffee from Democrats, independents and even some common sense Republicans who are sick and tired of watching not only the direction of this party, but this country — encouraging me to look into seeking higher office. And it’s something I’ll seriously consider.”

Teasing a possible run for governor, Duncan made his conditions known, saying, “If Georgia wants to elect somebody that wants to come into the office every day and make a difference, build consensus and turn chaos into conversations, then it’s something I’ll certainly entertain.”

Offering another view of his decision, the traitorous politician said, “Life is a series of choices, and choices bring consequences… I sleep soundly every night comfortable with not only my conservative credentials but also the knowledge that I don’t wake up every day hoping I won’t have to defend the indefensible conduct of a morally bankrupt man who couldn’t pick you out of a police lineup, even if he tried.”

Still whining, he claimed, “I was proud to join the Forsyth County Democrats to talk about my fight to address the affordability crisis, the health care crisis, and the Donald Trump crisis in Georgia. Together, we’re going to unite Democrats, Independents and disgusted Republicans to take on Trump and take back the Governor’s mansion for the first time in nearly 30 years.”
