Massachusetts is full of Massh*les that think they know better than anybody else, how to run their own life.

Typically, unless you maintain and properly design and plan a solar system and include storage batteries, you won’t come close to supplying 81% of your home’s electricity needs. Perhaps if you have gas heat, gas stove, and a gas water heater, and don’t run the AC much, it can be more easily attainable.

Most of these systems will fall into disrepair in 3-5 years and the person owning it will just pay confiscatory rates for their power like everyone else in these blue commie states.

Your analysis is more detailed than mine - Good 👌 - but as I posted, it is a liberal pipe dream, especially for all the hidden costs that would drive home ownership nearly impossible.

I suspect that the latter outcome is the intended agenda - you will own nothing and be happy.
