why should my rate go up ? shouldn’t the usage charges of whoever is bringing in “big data” go up ?

Electric companies can do whatever they want, it seems. We have very high rates here. No big Data stuff around. What the country needs is more dams, and more hydropower. Cheap, clean, easy.

I get it.
but my usage can stay the same or even go down and my bill goes up cause they can change the rate -> x amount per KW hours.
Which begged my question why should my rate go up based on someone elses’ usage.
Make their rate go up, not mine.
