Massive multi-state outage. My area from 1300-1830. Utah, WY, SD, ND, MT. Fortunately, it was a nice day. Perhaps the Laramie powerplant in Wheatland WY was the first domino. But let’s spend 1.5 trillion of healthcare for illegals.
Regarding the power outage, Rapid City is in a unique location - it has one of several AC-DC-AC interties that connect the eastern interconnection with the Western Interconnection. I think that since this affects Wyoming and just western South Dakota, it is a problem on the Western Interconnection.
I’ll have to read up on it - this is sort of in my wheelhouse. I did a drive-by and looked at the interconnecting substation when I was there a few years ago on our FreeQ trip.
