***Doctors wants to put me on statins due to extremely high cholesterol (high in both good and bad)***

Like any medicine - prescription or natural - they affect people in various ways. I have been on atorvastatin for years and my lipid readings are enviable. However, I also attribute that success as much to as many years on niacin (I take 500mg time release daily) and fish oil (1000mg); I used to take fish oil three times a day but as results improved I reduced it to two times a day and presently just once a day. My arteries have almost no blockages and my heart tests strong and healthy.

If you really want to avoid the statins, or you have a poor experience with one, I would suggest the regimen of niacin and fish oil. Caution: the temptation with niacin is to jump to a higher dose; I recommend against that but do think the time release results in better absorption and better body usage of the product. Fish oil does not receive enough praise - good for arteries and veins, good for the heart, good for the brain - not so good for the fish. 😉❗

That fish oil is the omega 3’s talkin’. A good diet with beef tallow, butter, and lard will help with those omega 3’s too. Plus, fat is flavor. You can’t go to Flavortown without fat.
