I still think Trump is trying to deflect from Epstein because he has been informed that Epstein was a straight-up CIA operator.

For those in Rio Linda here's the rule. It's complicated and stupid when the easy answer was to have the kicking team kick from the 20 or 25 yard line to encourage returns.

The NFL adopted a significant overhaul of the kickoff rule, often called the Dynamic Kickoff or the XFL-style kickoff, for the 2024 season on a trial basis, with slight modifications for 2025.

The primary goals of the new rule are to reduce high-speed collisions for player safety while also increasing the number of kickoff returns (the play had become a "dead play" with a high rate of touchbacks).

Here are the key aspects of how the new kickoff works:

🏈 Player Alignment

• Kicking Team: The ball is still kicked from the 35-yard line.
  • The kicker is the only one on the 35-yard line.
  • The other 10 members of the kicking team line up at the opposing team's 40-yard line
• Receiving Team:
  • At least nine players must line up in the "Setup Zone" (between their own 30- and 35-yard line).
  • A maximum of two returners line up in the "Landing Zone" (between the goal line and the 20-yard line)

🛑 Movement Restrictions

• No Movement Until the Ball is Touched: With the exception of the kicker and the two returners, no player on either team is allowed to move until the ball hits the ground or is touched by a player in the landing zone or end zone.
  • This is the crucial safety element: It eliminates the long, high-speed sprinting of players downfield that led to many concussions.

🎯 The Landing Zone & Touchback Rules

The rules around where the ball lands are designed to incentivize returns and penalize "kicking it out of bounds" or out of the end zone.

Kick Scenario	Resulting Field Position (for Receiving Team)
Lands Short of the 20-yard line	Ball placed at the 40-yard line.
Lands in the Landing Zone (20 to Goal Line)	The kick must be returned.
Hits in the Landing Zone, then rolls into End Zone & is Downed	Touchback at the 20-yard line.
Reaches the End Zone in the Air or Goes Out the Back	Touchback at the 35-yard line (changed from the 30-yard line in 2024).

🔄 Onside Kicks

• Onside kicks use the pre-2024 kickoff formation and rules.

The changes essentially transform the kickoff into a short-yardage play with a static line of engagement, making it safer while giving the returner a better chance to make a big play.
