They have replicas where the hoops are made of painted leather or aluminum. They’re popular with the Renaissance fair crowd.

The mail I wore at a Renaissance Festival was made of steel, and weighed 80 pounds. Sweeny’s dress is made of silver metal and has been estimated to weigh between 10 and 20 pounds.

The mail I wore was made by a member of the Society of Creative Anachronisms in preparation for training to fight a knight wearing full plate armor. That knight was very good, I never landed a blow on him; and, I could move the sword quickly. He didn’t attempt to strike me.

Hubby said she sure has good genes, I mean good jeans.

By the way, I think I should point out that very few read the second paragraph of your leading post.

She won the dry t-shirt contest, never mind the wet one.

So you’re a fan of the laws of chemistry and physics. I can relate. Just be careful.

A ponytail is easy, and so is leaving it as it naturally falls.

Drying time is too long unless you love walking around with a wethead for hours.

Long luxurious hair that flows beautiful from a rubber band only happens to women lucky enough to have straight hair with at most a slight wave. The rest of us with frizzy or kinky or very curly hair aren't that fortunate.

I have a neat hairdryer made by Shark products. It dries my not quite waist length hair in a fraction of the time of a regular hair dryer. My hair has a natural wave to it that’s frizzy unless I put hair product in it. I have some nice ones from my salon that I use.

If I don’t take the time to dry my hair, which happens in the summer but not the winter, the product works nicely. It’s called a “smoothing gel”.

I hear ya, though. I don’t wash my hair every day. Usually just 2-3 times a week. I have really dry skin and hair. I can’t hydrate it enough. It does take some effort, but I get lots of compliments. The added bonus is that people regularly think I’m between 5 and 10 years younger than I really am. I like that. I’m going kicking and screaming into a “mature” age.
