A fan is “in critical condition” after falling “from the 200 level of PPG Paints Arena” during the Penguins’ game against the Blues last night. The incident happened “after the Penguins scored their second goal 55 seconds into the first period of their 6-3 victory.” Fans said they “saw the man in a Penguins jersey stumble down several stairs between sections 201 and 234 as he approached the bottom of the section before falling into and tumbling headfirst over the glass.” The fan “fell into the suite level and hit another person,” then “dropped another level into the walkway between the FNB Club and Section 122”

This thread has some promise...
When the Kingdome in Seattle was still open in 1981 a 16 year old girl fell 40 feet from an exterior pedestrian ramp while waiting to enter a Rolling Stones concert. I was at the concert, but didn’t hear about it until the next day. Two years later a man fell about 50 feet from a ramp as he exited a Seattle Super Sonics basketball game. Both of them died at the scene.
In 1994 during roof renovations two workers died after they fell over 250 feet from a crane basket that detached while they were sandblasting the ceiling. Six years later local politicians blew up the Kingdome after spending over $70 million on recent renovations.
Over $870 million was spent on the two replacement structures not including on extensive renovations to bridges and highways connecting them to I-5 and I-90. Billions more have been spent supposedly making Seattle a more beautiful tourist hotspot, yet visits over the last few years have dropped off the map because the DEI police force is not allowed to do anything to keep aggressive pan handling under control. And despite spending $Hundreds of Millions on idiotic extreme liberal solutions to solve “homelessness” the problem has exploded.
Seattle and the state of Washington are the perfect examples of what happens when leftist’s take over and completely corrupt the voting system.
Did the nachos make it?
I was at that concert and remember that little girl. She had begged her mom to get her tickets. The outer rings had flat ledge surfaces and this girl was sitting on it when she fell over backwards to her death. As a result, the installed triangular blocks on these ledges to prevent anyone from sitting on them.
The other thing I remember is all the people overdosing along the RR tracks as we were walking to the stadium

Seattle was already sliding downhill even back then. They should have put the new stadiums in Tukwila on the old Long Acres site. It had been shutdown for 8 years before they blew up the Kingdome. Access would have been better for virtually everyone, and you wouldn't have had the horror of being in an area that had already been taken over by malcontents. The site was purchased by Boeing, but they still have not fully utilized it, and it could easily have been purchased through eminent domain. But in this state that tool is only used against land owners who are not politically connected.
Thanks for bringing it all back! :)
Were you around when the Fire Captain and his family were leaving a Mariners game and were walking through Pioneer Square when he was stabbed to death by a bum? I think that was in the late 90’s
I believe that I went to the funeral. The thing that people who are highly critical of the police don't understand is that a person with a knife is can be more dangerous at close range than someone with a handgun.
I experienced this firsthand when a psycho we were checking up on pulled a handgun, pointed it at me and stated pulling the trigger. It didn't fire because he had loaded the cartridges in the magazine backwards. If he had a knife I could easily have been killed.
