Although sucralose is used in many sweeteners, this is a by product of making the substitute.

Sucralose is the yellow packets. Saccharine is the pink.

The pink stuff is Saccharin, the oldest sugar substitute which was in use in 1897. It was discovered to cause cancer in rats and was banned until further research found that while it causes cancer it rats, it does not cause cancer in humans due to different metabolism. It is now legal again for use in humans.
