If, as the article states, this fortress was built between 1550 and 1070 BC, most of that time period is well within the generally accepted time of the Exodus, between 1400 to 1200 BC.
Again, the dating is the issue. The fortress is misdated (it’s younger than that) because of the duplication of some of the New Kingdom dynasties.
