So, these crooks were able to use a cherry-picker to enter a window that was covered by cameras, yet in broad daylight and used chainsaws to gain access to the jewel cases with visitors onlooking in horror.

They escaped with the Crown Jewels via the same cherry-picker. Failed at their attempt of setting the bucket truck on fire and left behind on the ground the actual crown Itself with over 1,300 diamonds.

Clearly, they’re not sending their best and it is truly amazing security of such historic and monetary value was so lacking.

Some reports say the Louvre’s security chief (Dominique Buffin) was an incompetent diversity hire. If so, that would explain a lot.

Would one have expected the authorities to have shot and killed them as they fled? What if they were later in a boat? I think so.
