From https://gellerreport.com/2025/10/louvres-first-dei-female-museum-director-hired-first-female-dei-security-chief.html/

In 2021, the Louvre tapped a woman, Laurence des Cars, as their Chair with a mission to “feminize recruitment” to key posts in the museum.

_________

Sadly for them, they hired the wrong person for the wrong reason. A woman certainly can be competent as a museum director or the head of security, but they hired this director specifically to hire women, not competent people. The lack of security cameras in the area of the thieves’ path surely must’ve been known by the male museum directors and security heads, so they’re not off the hook. The right woman or man would’ve seen the lack and had it taken care of.

Agreed. Although I read that requests for security by the Louvre have been languishing in French bureaucracy for around five years.
