I understand why L.A. would be excited, but since it’s a Canadian team vs. Dodgers on repeat, maybe Americans are not as into it this year?
I was surprised no thread was posted before game 1 so you may be correct. That said for a blowout it wasn’t the worst game. The home crowd was into it at least.
Yes that must be it and I looked it up, wow! No Canadian team in WS since 1993?!?!
But they beat the Mariners…
No Canadian team in WS since 1993?!?!
Ironically that’s also the last year a Canadian team won The Stanley Cup.
no kidding. is there a White House tradition of hosting baseball or hockey team like there is with Superbowl?
LoL 🇨🇦 51st state.
(don’t want that though.)
That year was the end of baseball for me.
I just saw the thread. Thanks for posting.
It was a great game. There’s not much to celebrate these days in the communist country that was once Canada, so it’s nice to see the Jays in the WS after so many years.
If they win, I am curious to see if they get an invite to the WH. Seeing as they’re not really “Canadians”, I hope they do. I also hope the rest of Canada doesn’t act like the idiots they are and complain about it.
Blue Jays got White House invites in ‘92 and ‘93. They accepted the GHW Bush invitation in ‘92 and declined the Clinton invitation in ‘93.
In a game at the Rogers Centre in Canada, is the guy in the middle of the outfield a centrefielder? ⚾⚾
Time to tell Kirk Gibson’s joke when he was an announcer in Detroit.
In a minor league game where a batted ball went to the outfield, then went through a hole in the fence and was swallowed by a hog on the other side, the umpires had to make a call on the play.
An inside the pork home run.
I do miss
Thus: MLB = Dead to me.
Baseball is still on TV? Baseball - 15 minutes of action packed into 3 hours. A game where a player that bats less than .200 can get paid $500,000 per season. Nice work if you can get it ...
Hard PASS!
Good game.
The Dodger’s bullpen is a weakness this Series and they got torched last night. And with Alex Vesia out it’s even more challenging.
Happy for Toronto fans to get a win but believe LA holds the upper hand - on paper!
The players don’t seem to care.
As long as they get a paycheck.
At least that’s the Reds.
They acted like they won the world series when they got a wild card spot. Then lost with no remorse.
One of the reasons they are background noise on the garage radio in the summer.
Glad they didn’t have another losing season.
Now do football.
