He says he will provide you with a debit card too. It sounds quite good and at least it's money backed by something!

Whatever....if you cannot put your hands on it at home, you are nothing but a claimant.

Sounds good... But to me this has a FDR 1933 confiscation, or a Sam Bankman-Fried sharpshooter “I don’t know where it went” vibe about it.

Apt.

Hugely apt.

Peter will make sure that gold is safely elsewhere. Probably Perth Mint in Australia as they have the set-up...

Schiff using blockchain? Clearly, this is evidence that the end of the world is nigh.

Not in your hands…not your gold.

Maybe he’s a good guy, I don’t know. But the plundering plutocrats, and the velocity of changes have me more cautious about “new” concepts.

“You’ll be able to buy gold on an app through your phone, the gold will be stored in a vault and then you will be able to effortlessly transfer ownership of gold to people you know or redeem it for physical gold”

how is this different from all the other gazillion schemes that claim to hold “your” gold for you?

the gold will be stored in a vault

Not saying it won’t be, but, many stories about “ the Gold is ( was) stored in a vault”. If you can’t hold it, you don’t own it. Just ask the Roosevelt era Gold owners who had their Gold stored in bank safety deposit boxes...and the bank in California which a few years back the FBI seized all the safety deposit boxes and confiscated all the Gold ( and cash), It took the owners three years and lawsuits to get it back.

“FBI Seized $86 Million From People Not Suspected of Any Crime. A Federal Court Will Decide if That’s Legal.

Following a raid in March 2021, federal agents spent days rifling through the personal belongings stored in nearly 1,400 safe deposit boxes seized from a vault in Beverly Hills, California.

The agents were tasked with cataloging the contents of the boxes, but they also seized piles of valuables—gold coins, luxury watches, family heirlooms, and stacks of cash—from people who had not been charged with any crimes.

And they did that despite being told, by the warrant authorizing the raid, that the contents of the safe deposit boxes were off-limits.....”

“effortlessly ... redeem it for physical gold”

but a very high shipping fee and a minimum redemption amount no doubt.

A friend has dredged the Klamath for decades (no longer allowed to) and sells me some gold when he needs cash. The transfer is via USPS and does cost a bit, primarily to make sure it makes it to me. I believe the term is insurance.
It then stays in my gun safe. Usually one ounce increments.

"Whatever....if you cannot put your hands on it at home, you are nothing but a claimant.

That's pretty much what I was going to type.

If it is not in your possession, it's not really yours.
