ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith has gotten more and more involved in politics in recent years and is not afraid to speak his mind when it comes to national issues.

That trend continued Thursday morning as he discussed NBA star Terry Rozier and Portland Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups being arrested as a part of a major FBI gambling investigation.

<< “That’s not to question the legitimacy of the case. We don’t know. We’re all sitting up here and we’re saying that we don’t know.” >>

Yet neither that nor the fact that this investigation started years ago doesn’t prevent SAS and his race-obsessed ilk from asserting that Trump is out for revenge.

Legalization of sports gambling was a mistake in my opinion. Too much money involved to keep games honest

Yep. On the face of it, not unexpected. The usual suspects.

How dare President Trump enforce the law and protect Americans from criminals!   /sarc

Smith is an irrelevant attention whore.

This may be true. I have not paid much attention to many of the "professional" sports since Colon Krapernik first took a knee during the National Anthem.

After Steven Smith voiced a few opinions that were not woke, some people started talking about Smith running for office.

Reminds me of Michael Avenatti. He became a Drive-By Media darling for helping Stormy Daniels against Trump. The Drive-By actually promoted Avenatti running for office

Today, the only thing Avenatti is running from is Bubba in the prison yard.

One of the worst aspects are the phone apps which encourage low IQ people to waste
their money. These apps are heavily and predominantly marketed to "people of color".
Pay from the EBT card to "Draft Kings" in one easy step.

We should ban gambling apps.

If you want to make a bet, you should have to go to a casino to place a bet in person.

You can always count on Smith to try to be controversial. But in this case, he's really missing the boat because this is really the most controversial story in sports-so much that it should frighten everyone in the industry-from players, coaches, staff, broadcasters, and so on.

Based on the kind of money going around, the people typically involved in betting, the general lack of character among many athletes, and the way gambling (ad revenue) has been embraced by all sports leagues, this is only the beginning.

Yes, good idea. And bets should be placed with cash, not credit cards.

He wants to give Trump credit for uncovering massive corruption? Not sure he thought that one through.

I didn't think so before. But this screed makes me think otherwise.

You know what this means, this means that there are BIGGER heads to roll in this otherwise Screamin A wouldn’t be so nervous to even bring up Trump, this investigation has been going on for TWO YEARS, seriously who knows the name Chauncey Billups unless you are a die hard NBA fan most people wouldnt have a clue who they are, this involves the mafia, the mob, and Screamin A is screaming about TRUMP seriously..nah this means that bigger heads are gonna roll perhaps Smith is involved himself
