I believe the former AG Daaniel Cameron will run to replace the current Democrat loser governor. How is a conservative state like Kentucky have a Dem Governor and 2 independent congress people.

Daniel Cameron is currently the leading candidate for the GOP Primary for Senate in 2026 (McConnell is not running for re-election).

Emphasis on “currently.” His lead has been both consistent and significant - but not sure he can sustain that with his present lackluster fundraising. And it appears the Democrats are planning to make a play for the seat by talking Amy McGrath into running again, who vastly outraised and outspent even Mitch McConnell in 2020. While she did terribly in that election even with all of that, this current crop of candidates don’t have McConnell’s campaign prowess.

If Scott Jennings were to jump into the race...it could change. But I’d actually rather Jennings himself make the run for governor. He would be able to clean out the executive branch...and he’d be another high profile Republican governor with a good head on his shoulders. He is very good at explaining things and convincing people and he may be in a better position as governor to make a difference vs. 1 of 100 Senators.
