Not since Ronald Reagan have druglords had to fear a US president like they do Trump. If Trump can ‘dedrugify’ Latin America it will be one of the greatest achievements of any US president ever.
Under Reagan the US forces directly attacked the coca fields of Colombia with Paraquat. This action was, of course, attacked by the Democrat Party. As I recall, the Sierra Club was particularly outraged.
