A stealth glider could take a quiet look around instead of a noisy warning shell being sent off.

We didn’t test countermeasures, like tanks disguised as school buses, either. But modern sensors definitely increase the range and lethality of ordinance. A 155mm artillery shell can be an autonomous (i.e., “smart”) drone.
