Nursing is a smart, yet tough career with a lot of different avenues to pursue.

You will always be able to get a job. But you will be worked to the bone.

It’s searched a lot because in most nursing jobs the hours are long and the benefits suck.

Probably a good way to meet chicks, too.

Gee, none of those jobs are on MY list of most desirable:

Indy race car driver
Jet pilot
Swimsuit photographer

Guess I'm out of touch.

Heh, if you can still go on dates with people from work! (it is how I met my wife of nearly forty years...she was a nurse, back when they wore the white outfits...:)

I was encouraged by a little old 88 year old lady who was a patient of mine to ask my future wife out because she crooked her finger as she lay on the exam table to whisper to me: “You two would make such a wonderful couple!”

I looked at my future wife who was measuring the urine in the bag at the end of the table, and thought...”Yeah!”

My wife told me that she said that to every guy who came within 20 feet, all of them from the janitor to the neurosurgeon!

Worked my butt off nursing, loved it but very consuming. One has to love caring for people, be a scientist and continue education without ceasing.
Not for everyone.

I would think lottery winner would be the most searched occupation.

Nurses have the highest rates of cheating.

My middle child was in microbiology but decided to switch to sonography. Once they start working, they are going back for radiology. Average salary for sonography is $75K to $120K. Average salary for a radiologist is between $350K to $500K.

We all thought my youngest was going into tech, but after being my companion this last year due to my failing health, he is going for physical therapy assistant. Salary between $65K to $135K. Two year degree that will cost about $7K in total. Seems like a solid investment.

My daughter-in-law was a CNA and was going into nursing, until she was attacked by a patient. Thankfully, she was not seriously hurt, the creeper was arrested for attempted sexual assault, and his skanky hide was hauled out of the hospital in handcuffs.

She’s exploring other options.

In nursing. Yes. I’ve gone to interviews wearing a uniform. I’ve gotten jobs over the phone 1200 miles away

They’ll work you 60 hours a week

Job security is worth a lot of money and that’s the part of the job that’s calming

You work nights, weekends, holidays no guaranteed social life.

In the SF Bay Area, the typical nurse pulls down >$200K a year. Not bad money if you like or can tolerate that world. And I’m glad that we have people who want to do the job because it’s a job that has to be done. But based on personal experience of myself and family, though, hospitals are places of my nightmares, so I wouldn’t want the gig no matter how much it paid.

But the chicks you’ll meet will be nurses, like you. What could go wrong?

Seems that if you want to meet a nurse chick, get to work at being a patient. ...???

From the doctors I know, I’d say $350K would probably be average.
Public employees are subject open records, so I just looked up a couple docs I know who are affiliated the Univ of California SF (the big teaching hospital in town). One makes around $310K. The other around $580K.

In What’s New, Pussycat, Woody Allen in his first role was in Paris.
His buddy asked him if he had a job.
“Yes, I work at the strip palace helping all the girls with their costumes. 20 sous a week.”
“20 sous? That isn’t very much money.”
“It’s all I can afford to pay them.”

Nurse outfits for Halloween and adult play are huge sellers for a reason. What dude doesn’t appreciate a pretty young lass caring for their broken body. Especially if they can cook. :)
