Only one auto maker has the EV nailed and it is Tesla.

Because they looked at the problem from a system of systems perspective and not a “let’s slap this shit together and fool the public!”.

Nobody asked for electric cars. The government demanded it, and subsidized it. The auto makers were cool with the subsidy. Now that’s over and the cars aren’t selling. I blame it on government stupidity combined with greed from manufacturers.

I’ll give them some slack and presume that the Biden administration strong-armed them into doing it.

Where do they find these clueless people?

Unfortunately our school system is cranking them out by the millions, indoctrinating them in all the fashionable nonsense. Then they try to apply such nonsense to the real world and are surprised when they fail.

They were led to believe by the WEF collaborators that the various national laws would be implemented to remove internal combustion engines (ICE) from the markets.

When the public pushed back on the ICE restrictions being put forward in these countries the companies found out they (FORD/GM) have gotten ahead of their skis.

Meanwhile, the employees of those companies suffer.

“Unfortunately our school system is cranking them out by the millions, indoctrinating them in all the fashionable nonsense.”

My nephew has three kids in public school. My sister and BIL have offered (begged, actually) to pay for their education in a private school. Nephew’s wife refuses; she WANTS them in public school.

“They ran full on to fascism. All these companies just love government mandates for the means of production. They were drooling at the thought of people being forced to buy their crap. And their major shareholders like Blackrock and Vanguard were all in.”

Now they're trying to play innocent.

Looks to me like the stupid decisions and terrible judgment of business executives would invite highly competent entrepreneurs, who can make wise decisions and have excellent judgment, to replace them.

“...unexpected market realities”

Versus

“...expected government realities”

They chose poorly. Windmills, solar cells and EVs are all birds of a feather.

Don’t dump on Ford. They did fall for government enticements and promises, but CEO Mara put GM in the same boat, or worse.

And, remember, Ford is the lone automaker who refused the bailouts years ago.

Still buying Ford ICEs. Loving a new Bronco Sport 3-cylinder, peppy & nimble and a looker to my eye.

States like CA has outlawed gas powered cars so what was Ford to do? Add to that huge gummit subsidies and they took the bait. This is what happens when you have Communist cetralized gummit.

Mary Barra said some years ago GM was going to be all electric by 2035 and would be selling +500K EVs by now if my memory serves me correctly. Similar projections by Ford too. Both companies are likely to sell somewhere around 125K EVs each this year.

Ford CEO Mark Fields: “They really didn’t have a good discussion on the consumer, in terms of what it was going to take to get the consumer to buy these EV products.”

Please STOP LYING. The problem isn’t that they didn’t listen to consumers - they knew from the start that only a small slice of customers had any interest in EVs (the ones with enough ‘spare change’ to own spare cars) and that most of those customers would go back to gasoline once they endured an EV. The problem is that they betted on consumers having NO CHOICE in what they would be FORCED to buy, and after the Biden Girls won in 2020, they betted again that Trump was just a one-off, and like Europeans, nothing was going to stop the Leftists from continuing with their mandate.

And the Communist Chinese don't care about market forces for EVs...

These are all covered with nearly new, unsaleable electric vehicles because they were pushed to produce them, but not to sell them.
