There’s nothing I find more hateful on this forum and there are few hateful subjects, than the pinpointing of generation blame

That said, I have a very toxic work environment and it is among me and my fellow baby boomer having zero to do with our age

Shirking work and responsibility onto me and everyone that dreams of wanting to work there. It is a great job otherwise. Highly skilled

No one young can do it very well because of the years of experience required.

The problem has Ben and always has and is now getting worse, wimpy bosses who favor nasty people. They are afraid of firing, lawsuits, and they get pressure from the offices that have to deal with disgruntled workers. The worst of which are the ones to sue and they are toxic in the office knowing they have power

You can slap as much DEI, race, age and sex discrimination you want on that. What it is is lawsuit fear and the worst element having too much power from it

Agreed. Before starting my business I was lucky enough to work at a place that have several different ages and back grounds that all got along. Maybe 100 to 200 people in a conservative area.

When I started my own and did contract work for very large companies the HR departments were the main cause of workplace misery. Some of the most sinister, sadistic, racist, and sexist people I’d ever dealt with in the workplace were in HR. Managers and ‘bosses’ could be dealt with face to face with a bit of aggression and defending yourself against their attacks. But most people I would see would let it stew and then run off to the HR department to make complaints at all the sleights from a coworker or boss. So no one trusted anyone, no one wanted to work with anyone, no one knew who or what the problems were, no one knew why anyone was angry. All because the HR would be the ‘lunch lady’ everyone would tattle to.
