A recent survey from Monster reveals a disturbing trend in the American workforce: an increasing number of employees say they are facing toxic work environments, with detrimental effects on their mental health.
The latest Mental Health in the Workplace survey conducted by Monster paints a grim picture of the current state of American workplaces. The survey, which polled 1,100 workers, found that an alarming 80 percent of respondents described their workplace as toxic, a significant increase from the 67 percent reported just a year prior. This toxic environment is taking a toll on employees’ mental well-being, with 71 percent of workers rating their mental health as either poor (40 percent) or fair (31 percent).

Work environments are and have always been places where random people are forced to work together in advancing their own and the company’s interests. This is nothing new. All of this mental health crap is just the feminization of that workplace. Me? I don’t have to put up with anyone’s shit. I work outdoors and ALONE.
Not where I work..and I wont say where. Even management is afraid of HR. Step out of line and HR will set you straight.
Wait until you see what SHEE does with HER penis in the girls room.

Agreed. Before starting my business I was lucky enough to work at a place that have several different ages and back grounds that all got along. Maybe 100 to 200 people in a conservative area.
When I started my own and did contract work for very large companies the HR departments were the main cause of workplace misery. Some of the most sinister, sadistic, racist, and sexist people I’d ever dealt with in the workplace were in HR. Managers and ‘bosses’ could be dealt with face to face with a bit of aggression and defending yourself against their attacks. But most people I would see would let it stew and then run off to the HR department to make complaints at all the sleights from a coworker or boss. So no one trusted anyone, no one wanted to work with anyone, no one knew who or what the problems were, no one knew why anyone was angry. All because the HR would be the ‘lunch lady’ everyone would tattle to.

there were never really any “special projects” ... mostly just sat in the office until retired ... and he wasn’t the only terrible manager treated this way, either ...
Discord at work comes as easy as a crumb off a croissant. People are primed and ready for conflict.
“Toxic workplace” is subjective; in the eye of the beholder.
As a consultant at many shops, 2 of my 3 best places to work had a boss that many would call toxic.
Different personalities fit best is different situations. This is an asset, not a liability. If we were all the same it would be very boring.
thank you very much for this
