What are cheese curds? Sounds gross.
Wisconsin cheese curds are fresh, bite-sized chunks of unaged cheddar cheese known for their mild flavor and springy, “squeaky” texture. They are a byproduct of the cheesemaking process, made before the curds are pressed to age into blocks of cheese. They can be eaten plain or with added seasonings like garlic and dill, or battered and deep-fried, a popular snack throughout Wisconsin.
Curds are awesome, if you like cheese. I've got a pound sitting around here somewhere.
