I’ve heard so much recently about the innovative history of Africa. I was expecting the top tier to be dominated by African nations.
Animal farm
1984
Brave New World
The Earth Abides
The long Walk by the polish author
There's a few others to add: Once an Eagle, Texas (by Michener), and the Kent Family Chronicles (actually any of John Jakes' novels). Trouble for most readers is the length of these books. I read them all when I was stationed in Germany, went without TV for 4+ years. My apartment was too far from base to access the American Forces Network, so my time at home was spent reading, and mixing cassette tapes.
Both good.
Animal farm is also a cartoon on you tube. Make sure it is not the happy ending version.
Another one is Children of Men. The film is abysmal.
1984 Is a great film.
Earth Abides is being made into film.
