As the nation of Israel eagerly awaits the return of the remaining hostages, some of them alive (perhaps barely so), the rest of them dead, there will be much celebration and joy. At last, after more than two hellish years, they will be home. But there is also much pain, and not just the pain of the moment. It is the cumulative pain of generations.
Some will immediately say, “But what about the people of Gaza? What about their pain? What about their suffering and agony?”
After all, we see the images of the bombed cities, of the terrified children, of the grieving mothers, of the dead and the dying and wounded, virtually 24 hours a day. How can we not talk about the suffering of the people of Gaza?
My response is that I am not denying or minimizing their suffering, neither am I justifying all of Israel’s military actions. To the contrary, already in early December 2023 I wrote an article titled, “Sympathy for the Palestinians,” and I have often drawn attention to their plight.

As long as their idea of “freedom” is murdering all the Jews and stealing their land, I don’t care about the plight of fake Palestinians, or what’s happened to them. It is of their own making.
As in the time of their visitation by Christ Jesus, their Messiah, they are looking for political and worldly redemption rather than spiritual redemption of their souls from the Son of God.
But soon Israel will turn from looking for hope from this world which is utterly against them, and turn their hope toward the One who died for them and loves them.
Understanding Israel’s Pain Dr. Michael Brown, The Line of Fire, 10 October 2025
The people of Gaza overwhelmingly support the government, the political goals, and the military goals, of the Hamas terrorist organization.
On 7-October-2023, without any warning, Hamas fired 4,300 rockets into mostly civilian areas of Israel.
On 7-October-2023, Hamas deliberately murdered 736 Israeli civilians (including 38 children) and 79 foreign nationals.
At least 364 of the dead civilians and foreign nationals were attending a music festival about three miles from the Gaza border.
On 7-October-2023, Hamas deliberately captured 250 hostages, almost all of them civilians or foreign nationals. At least 90 of those hostages were murdered.
What about the suffering of the Gaza people?
I do not care.
The Gaza population is one of the most un-productive, most hateful, and most violent, in the entire world.
They eagerly seek and spend the financial assistance of countries and donor organizations every where.
I do not care what happens to the people of Gaza.
The people of Israel also know that in order to get all the hostages back, they have agreed to release thousands of Palestinian prisoners, including 250 with life sentences, some of them involved in acts of mass murder....
it can only bring to mind the fact that Yahya Sinwar, the mastermind of October 7, was one of 1,027 Palestinian prisoners released by Israel as part of the deal to bring Gilad Shalit home in 2011 after he was held captive by Hamas for 5 years.
I don’t see why Israel can’t just implant them with RFID chips or something. Then sometime after the exchange goes through, locate and you-know-what them.
