The pumpkin patch we go to does the trebuchet thing with regular pumpkins. The last time we went they had changed things up due to safety considerations. They only did it twice each day rather than once every half-hour. And they used to let the kids run down the field as soon as it launched and they’d pick up the pieces and then run over to the pig area and toss the pieces over the fence to them.
Now they have the landing zone all roped off and they can only watch from a distance.
