Just what we need. More low IQ scammers.
Were these ‘Indian’ employees of a ‘US based’ company working in the US or in India?
For those who actually read through the article, at the end one finds:

"Number of H-1B visa beneficiaries approved in fiscal 2025, by company"So, everybody, stop buying through Amazon and Walmart, stop buying Apple and Microsoft products, and please don't patronize Google ( which operates all those beloved YouTube videos which show up on FR threads ).

Just, stop it.
I doubt that story. Reddit is the playground of deranged leftists.
Good! Maybe for once when I call customer service I can get a person on the phone who speaks ENGLISH. Amazon is by far the worst when it comes to hiring foreign workers, whenever you need any sort of help either by chatting or phone call you get someone who does NOT speak one word of English
Layoffs often force you to upgrade your life and your career which you wouldn't have staying comfortably in your comfort zone.
You forgot that part.
“Bon voyage, Sanjay.”
What percentage I wonder will actually leave when their work visa’s expire? Assuming that they don’t find other employment? Overstaying visa’s is one of the most common ways to become an “illegal.”
Happened to mr mm when he was let go.

Welcome to the real world folks. Happens all the time to American employees.
😆👏
The media is sure pushing the sob stories
Given that their was probably an American work force that had a similar fate. You now know how they felt. Of course its very likely not true that the “Indian workforce” was fired. Its more likely that the H1-B workforce was fired. And it just so happens they are all Indian. The idea that H1-B’s so happen to be 75% Indian is a complete scam. Someone in the US government is being paid off. There is a crime here. And it needs to end. But I would like the guy who is getting paid to go to jail as well. He is not an Indian. He is likely an American in the Federal government.
booboo Hire American.
Part 2) Don’t give us that old excuse about no Americans can/will do the job.
Part 3) Pay a decent wage.
Part 4) Get rid of Union/Liberal run schools and unis and educate & train Americans.
When Jack Welch ran GE, all employee performance was ranked each year. Employees who ranked in lowest 10% were fired every year.
I am completely exhausted by all the H1B stories from India. I don’t know why they don’t have an Indian Dream so they can make their move into their own upper classes. I think we should promote our own intellectual resources. I know that we aren’t doing much through our schools, but I did most of my education for myself. They handed me a Dick and Jane reader and got mad that I read the whole thing in a couple of minutes. It was supposed to last several months.
I went through 12 years of school without doing any homework. I didn’t have a clorox bottle to make a piggy bank because my older sister emptied it out for her project. I had to wear clothes that my older brother had grown out of but he was fat and I was skinny. Yet still I made a career in IT. We need to tell our kids that they can excel even without the school system. Not that they need to drop out but at least they can be successful at their own learning.
I'll say...
Nowhere do they even mention the name of the company that did the mass layoff.

I got replaced by an InfoSys org for most of my responsibilities. Company kept me employed w additional responsibilities then offered me a early retirement package about 18 months later.
It was a good retirement pkg and I was ready. I was 58yo at retirement date, I never looked back. 12 years later and 70yo I’ve got to say - No Regrets!!!
I did. Mea culpa.
My guess is that they were not working in the US, because there is some law about 60 day notices required for layoffs of a certain number of employees. Just my 2 cents.
