Right - That drive could almost as well be an external USB connected SSD, but internal, on the SATA buss, it’s a little faster.

NOW I have a new issue. There seems to be no way to get this dang Win 11 Pro machine to wake up from sleep or hibernation when the mouse is moved or clicked, or a key on the keyboard is pressed. (The keyboard has no specific “wake” key.) I’ve tried elevated command prompt commands*, and I’ve been all through Device Manager (including trying to find USB power shutdown settings.) Cripes.... The only thing that works is reaching under the desk and pressing the desktop machine’s power button briefly. I had no problems with this on the Win 10 Pro machine, and am using the same keyboard and mouse.
*When using the elevated command,
powercfg -deviceenablewake “HID Keyboard Device”
I get a return of “You do not have permission to enable or disable device wake.” even though I am clearly in the Administrator command prompt window.

Have you tried hot plugging them with it already on? Power it up without the keyboard and Mouse. Then hot plug them one at a time and see if it will suggest a proper new driver for them to download? Or auto set proper new configurations for them? Sometimes it has to see them as “new devices” being plugged in hot to do this.
