Mamdani: (paraphrased) Voters would rather learn about how I will help them get affordable groceries and oppose the Trump threats to democracy. A woman came up to me yesterday and showed me her shirt showing a bagel. “ I’m for the shmear, not the smear.”
(Meaning the Yiddish term for a good portion of cream cheese put on a bagel rather than the criticisms of Mamdani.)
