Former NFL QB Mark Sanchez was stabbed last night in Indianapolis and is currently in the hospital with critical injuries, TMZ Sports has learned.
Police received a call around 12:30 AM Saturday morning to a street in downtown Indianapolis for two injured people ... and one of the people was the former first-round draft pick.
We're told Sanchez was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition.
It's unclear what led to the violent incident.
38-year-old Sanchez was in town for his broadcasting gig with FOX Sports, and was scheduled to call Sunday's Colts vs. Raiders game at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indy.
Before exchanging his pads for the mic, Sanchez starred at USC from 2005-2008, where he led one of the best teams in college football. He was then drafted by the NY Jets with the 5th overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft.

Prayers for Butt Fumble!

Jeez....i’m in Indy every year for the NFL Combine- relatively safe so i wonder where he was... Prime Steakhouse is the big NFL hangout and two blocks outside of downtown which is all of 5 blocks large...
I was at that game...Thanksgiving Night- i was in the stadium for 61 minutes on the dot before i gave up and left
That’s the first thing I thought of too. It was when the Patiots scored something like 21 points in 11 seconds.
He was the last QB to take the Jets anywhere (AFC Championship, I think) and then he turned into a pumpkin.
He was in town for work (broadcasting). I hope he recovers from his critical injuries.
Wikipedia: The play was the centerpiece of a disastrous sequence in the second quarter, wherein the Jets lost three fumbles and the Patriots scored three touchdowns in the span of 52 seconds of game time. In that second quarter, the Jets held the ball for over 12 minutes (out of a possible 15), but managed to be outscored 35–3.
Poor guy. I hope he recovers soon.
Two straight Championship games. That was the high water mark. J E T S Just End The Season. Prayers for Mark though.

When I traveled for business, I was always asleep in my hotel room by then.
Anarchy in Indianapolis.
Send in the National Guard.
It’s a shame.
From what I have seen of him as a broadcaster he was very affable guy.
Not the kind of guy who would find himself in bad situations.
Anarchy in most of our major cities.
The problem isn’t the police. Problem are the Soros D.A.s and revolving door judges that let serial perps back on the street until they murder someone.
Even then - a murderer of a white child who broke into the family home to murder the child was only given 10 years in jail for that!
Seemingly no offense Democrats won’t excuse as long as the victims are ‘white Hispanics.”
Ever since RATs have been running Indy it has become a crime ridden shathole. I never go there anymore. I live in a small town outside of that place.
Amish involved??
Seems like all of our major cities have turned into "no-go" zones especially after Covid/George Floyd.
Why is he out late?
What naughty activity was he up to?
I live in Morgan County, but haven’t been in downtown Indianapolis for close to 40 years.
Interesting that when someone is a victim of violent crime many folks (likely never victims of violent crime) try to blame the victim.
Truth is anyone doing business in any major American city - night or day - can become the victim of an armed robbery, carjacking, rape, or murder - through no fault of their own.
It’s comforting to think you and your loved ones are immune but if you live in America you’re not. It’s just a question of % of risk.
Most folks I know, including retired LEOs, conceal carry every day.
