OF COURSE German and Irish workers were resented by native Americans as job thieves.
There was even a national political party, the American Party, a/k/a the Know-Nothings, whose entire focus was against Irish immigration. And that was in EIGHTEEN FIFTY.
The immigrants of the 19th century WERE NOT CONTACTED INDENTURED SERVANTS. The h-1b visa wage slaves are indentured and if they complain they are sent home. The can’t look for higher paying jobs.
