Genesis 25 or so fills it in “and lived in hostility toward all his kinsmen” (or something close; going by memory here).
That said, the most righteous “normal” guy in the OT was Job, or at least most righteous at that particular time.
Job was very clearly an Ishmaelite as his daughters all had Arab names.
Wikipedia tells me that Arabic is only about 2000 years old. If Job’s daughters had Arabic sounding names, that does not mean that Job was an Ishmaelite.
Torah Judaism acknowledges over and over again that no label covers every last person in a group. There are always exceptional people. As others pointed out, even in his own lifetime, Yishmael had periods of righteousness. There are reports scattered around the Talmud and other sources that many of our nation’s worst enemies, including perpetrators of great slaughters, either repented in their lifetimes or had progeny who became not just Jewish, but great sages. Even from the worst evil can come forth good.
