Yet I’ve had the same problems with Grok. I’ve caught serious errors (like Tyler Robinson was killed in a car crash in Illinois the day he murdered Charlie Kirk to errors in programming and errors in logic). Grok often leads with leftist viewpoints and changes course after you call it out on that.
I’ve never tried conversations with AI systems. What I’m always after is the intelligent encyclopedia. I was just in a conversation with someone and wanted to remember the name of a professor I had in 1967. So I asked AI, wondering how they could ever come up with an answer to a question so obscure. Instantly it came back up with a list of all the art professors at my school that year and there was the name I remembered suddenly with such affection.
For me, these AI systems are a dream that’s become reality. I don’t need a friend who is not really a friend. I’ve got a rich enough fantasy life on my own. I need facts. And I don’t ask for facts on emotionally laden topics. If I do, I’ll ask for links and do my own research, balancing all the opinions on the topic.
