And the hate continues for Caitlin Clark.
The Minnesota Lynx were recently eliminated from the WNBA postseason after the franchise suffered defeat against the Phoenix Mercury in the semifinals.
Phoenix will now square off against the Las Vegas Aces in the WNBA Finals.
Napheesa Collier, a forward for Minnesota, sent shockwaves across the league Tuesday in her exit interview, which is part of the year-end responsibilities for the Lynx. When speaking about the WNBA itself, Collier was positive regarding its future, however, she’s not a fan of the league’s hierarchy. And she was specifically talking about commissioner Cathy Engelbert.
Collier stated that the WNBA has “the best fans in the world, the best players in the world, but the worst leadership in the world.” When reporters asked her about those comments, she claimed that while speaking with Engelbert recently, the commissioner of the league said that Indiana Fever phenom Caitlin Clark should be appreciative of the WNBA. And why?
Well, apparently they’re the reason why Clark has been raking in the cash with sponsorships.
“I asked how she planned to fix the fact that players like Caitlin [Clark], Angel [Reese] and Paige [Bueckers], who are clearly driving massive revenue for the league, are making so little their first four years,” said Collier. “Her response was, ‘Caitlin should be grateful she makes $16 million off the court, because without the platform that the WNBA gives her, she wouldn’t make anything.’ In that same conversation, she told me, ‘Players should be on their knees thanking their lucky stars for the media rights deal that I got them.'”

Seems like a standard interview. Not an "exit" interview.
Why is this stupid woman fighting with the only person who attracts fans to the WNBA?
It has been 57 years since anyone said that.
If she wanted a different platform, should could be on a Euro team, and could likely be a member of the Harlem Globetrotters if the “girl” spot isn’t taken.
Women soccer players do much better in Europe as well. Any US player worth their salt would play over there.

That would make sense. The way they are battering her on the court, it wouldn’t take much to sustain a career ending injury. And given the mindset of those doing the battering, I suspect that is their intention.
Caitlin Clark should go to Europe for a year and let the WNBA flounder.
The WNBA seems to always snatch defeat from the jaws of victory ... what a bunch of looser management.
WNBA management clowns would fail at selling ice water in Hell.
She won't go to Europe. Why would she do that?
She should play golf. Then coach college basketball.

To get a chance to play the sport she loves, make a lot of money doing it and not worrying about being assaulted every time she touches the ball.
CC is an American though. I can’t picture her playing in Europe.

I don’t know if that’s legal anymore...NCAA did away with college teams vs. Athletes-In-Action, Crossfire, etc., as well as college teams vs. EA Sports.
But that was before NIL came along and the NCAA isn’t very good at winning lawsuits.

A European League would be her s 25X more than the WNBA to play there. She represents GLOBAL brands so her endorsement money could grow.
