I’m sorry about this. I truly enjoyed her research. Looked her up and some interesting factoids.

Got into her research thru a crush on Tarzan, believing she would have been a better partner for him than Jane.

Had face blindness which she compensated for by observing external characteristics and habits. Wonder how it affected her chimp research.

Lost the top of her thumb when a chimp in a lab bit it off. OUCH!

Jane Goodall had pets, including her beloved childhood dog Rusty, a horse, and a tortoise. Chimps were classes under friends.

Jane Goodall Quotes. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.

Good post. She was a special lady. One thing that's often overlooked is that the famous paleontologist Louis Leaky was the person who advanced her career. She was a secretary and he thought that someone without preconceived notions would be better for this kind of field research.
He was right; her observations were a reflection of the things that stood out to her.
One other great characteristic she had was great endurance. She said if she had stayed in the field for only a couple of years she would have had an incorrect impression of the lives of the chimpanzees. Things she would have missed out on were things like warfare between groups, criminal behavior and cannibalism and other forms of extreme behavior.
