Barack Obama’s best friend Jay-Z runs the Super Bowl selection process through his company Roc Nation which has an exclusive contract with the NFL. This is who chooses the halftime show, the most-watched musical performance in America.

I was wondering who made this obviously provocative decision. I dropped the NFL some time ago. Got my Sundays back. And Mondays. And Thursdays. And my sanity.

That makes sense. I thought that it was the NFL that was making the picks for the halftime shows.

I quit following the NFL when the Houston Oilers left for Tennessee. My dad was a huge Oilers fan and we used to go to 2-3 games a year.
