I should hope so. USS Constitution is the oldest warship in the world still afloat and in commission.

It is worth a long drive out of your way to see it in person. Absolutely beautiful.

The Southern Live Oak that was used to build the hull of USS Constitution comes from the Georgia coast. The key element, a "Y" shaped tree crotch of Live Oak that reinforces the prow above comes from about 20 miles north of me. This single piece of wood spreads the force of the ship pushing through the water.

The sides are a layer of soft pine between two layers of Southern Live Oak. This absorbed the energy of enemy shot causing it to bounce and giving the ship its nickname, Old Ironsides.
