For the first time ever, unborn babies were granted legal standing under the 14th amendment.

!!!

Derrick Evans's post celebrates a perceived pro-life victory from a July 2025 federal ruling in Barbara v. Trump, where ACLU plaintiffs argued Trump's birthright citizenship executive order would cause irreparable harm to unborn children of undocumented immigrants, invoking 14th Amendment protections.

U.S. District Judge Joseph Laplante certified a nationwide class for affected born infants and blocked the order,
but explicitly narrowed it to exclude unborn children, avoiding broader precedent on fetal personhood despite plaintiffs' requests.

The attached video amplifies the irony of pro-choice advocates seeking constitutional safeguards for fetuses, though the decision's scope remains limited to post-birth citizenship rights amid ongoing appeals, including a recent October 6, 2025, affirmation by the First Circuit.

Interesting situation - while the offspring of illegals are not, in my opinion and in the original meaning of the 14th amendment, citizens of the US (no anchor babies), it is interesting how they carve out that the unborn are not people, are not considered among the living people.

I contend that they are persons, and they are not US citizens unless one of the parents, at least, is a US citizen.
