Oh how I loved this book! Heiser is one of my go to’s. The last quarter of the book where he talks about heaven literally changed my life.
He is learned beyond normal men. A great teacher. I will always wonder why God saw fit to take him from us. Much like Charlie Kirk. The thoughts of God are so complex....
The same ones who voted for Obama to hasten the end times.

I remember that episode of Star Trek - I actually thought that Captain Kirk was going to die, so I ran upstairs to my bedroom.
I came back downstairs a few minutes later and asked if he was still around. My brother, always the tormenter, said that the good captain had perished. It was days later that I was finally told the truth.
Oh, the turmoil of youth....
Wow! ❗ Meyer for Prez in '28✔😀 That sums it up well. IF👈 crimes are prosecuted and fairly judged, the 'Rat Party is finished at any rate. The abuses of the Autopen Admin are so enormous that I completely fail to understand how that party is getting any votes right now at all. Are we losing the capacity to govern ourselves?
The 'Rat Party can never mention Watergate again, which stacks up like a Sunday school exercise in comparison to the phenomenal Constitutional outrages of this previous administration. From Bitem to Garland to Perkins Coie to AG James and what's-her-name in Georgia - volumes (❗) of violations enough to end this Republic forever if not defeated!
The Democ'Rat Party needs to somehow be outlawed. As you say, give them a chance to regain the WH and the Constitution won't be worth using to light Sherlock Holmes' pipe. They should have been disbanded in 1865... we have paid dearly for that failure for a century and a half.
What does midget minded Eric Swalwell claim must be the purpose of the next president: to DESTROY Trump's ballroom addition to the White House! ! ! God save us from these gangsters! ❗
I’ll note that it ws Clandestine that wrote those words, not I. I was merely copying and pasting the emailed message that he sent out today.
But he’s right - the dems will break every rule and point and laugh and say “why didn’t you do it when you were in power”. The left will do ANYTHING to destroy this country. They are the same people they were in 1860.
Thank you, foldy. Those pastors were motivated by social issues, not Jesus issues.

More to the point of our Constitutional Republic, the filibuster keeps the Senate from being a second House of Representatives - majority rules! Our founding father detested democracy - which the present 'Rat Party does not! ❗
OTOH, all of these years I thought that budget bills were not subject to the filibuster rule - for just the reasons that are painfully obvious now - one party can hold up the whole nation to try to force an unpopular bill on everyone. Perhaps that was once a rule; obviously not at the present.
Yeah, unfortunately, the dems will do it whether the republicans do or not.
I’d let it get ugly for a few days, and see what happens after the 5th of November. If the natives get restless, and I suspect that they will, then it’s time to kick the cloture rules to the curb and pass something.
You know, we haven’t had a real budget in several years. Nor have we had an actual real balanced budget. Both should be a priority of both bodies, but neither is because they are almost all on the same team. Trying to bankrupt the US government so that a globalist government can be instituted.
Perhaps the Senate should go back to being selected by states instead of elected, so that states have more of a say in things. We are, after all, the United STATES of America.
Not exactly.
The filibuster is merely an attempt to talk a bill to death. In our early history, both Houses of Congress had the ability to require a supermajority to cut off debate. As the House of Representatives grew, it became a problem, so the House ended the supermajority rule to kill debate. The Senate kept it.
Until a few decades ago, the filibuster required senators to talk continuously 24 hours a day until the bill either died, or the filibuster was broken by a supermajority. Now the requirement to talk a bill to death no longer requires the talking. One side merely says "filibuster," and the supermajority requirement kicks in.

They should go back to the old rule on the filibuster. Make them ramble on 24/7. Make it a little more difficult to be a thorn in the side of the country. If you’re right about something, you shouldn’t mind blathering on and on. If you’re wrong, you’ll shut up eventually.
Once again - Bang On 💥❗ ...but it will take a Constitutional amendment. 😥
That is definitely the rule that needs to be changed, not eliminating the filibuster! 👈 Make them talk around the clock, not just go home and pat themselves on the back! ❗
No, it won't. The Constitution allows the two Houses of Congress to set their own rules. A mere change in Senate rules would restore the talk-the-bill-to-death requirement.
That's a great book. Heiser's research and writings open whole "new" vistas of Biblical history ignored by most modern churches and seminaries because they seem so "difficult" or not relevant to the New Testament. On the contrary - they are crucial to a deeper understanding of it and our own present spiritual world.
It explains a spiritual and Biblical world most people today never knew clearly existed in the Bible - although Jesus, the Prophets, and the Apostles were very familiar with the information. It makes so much of the "unexplainable" today make entire sense.
One will almost never hear a sermon today on these crucial historical and spiritual subjects.
