Read "Lucifer's Hammer" by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle.
Great reading, and quite prophetic.. an apocalyptical novel written in 1970's.
A nice bedtime read. Cannibals at the nuclear power plant - “Give my children the lighting!”
