I have a theory about celebrity. It doesn’t matter if the celebrity is a good person, bad person, a murderer or whatever. AS long as that person has become a celebrity, he/she/it will have a fan base. The fan base does not care what the person is about or why they’re a celebrity. They are attracted to that celebrity the way a moth will orbit a porch light. They can’t help it. Charles Manson apparently had a fan base as do many murderers in prison. Women send photos and letters to someone who would happily kill them. I think that’s what’s going on here. If someone can explain this phenomenon, I’d be grateful.
