About 10 years ago, a department at a junior college had a display on cotton, its life cycle, processing and many, many uses. Some black students raised a stink about it (’cause it triggered them to see rayciss cotton) and made the department take it down.
Disgusting.
I worked for a cotton processing company for about 10 years.
The machines were in cotton gins. A lot of the workers in the plants were black men. They didn’t give a damn about the history. They were there for a job and they worked hard.
Every bale of cotton that left the gin put $$ in their pockets.
