The only problem is that conservatives are not in power in the UK as we speak.
The recognition of Palestine would never had happened under a conservative governement.
If the Democrats take over the White House in the future, they will probably recognize Palestine as well - that should not drive us to dislike America - just because a political party we don’t agree with took a bad decision.
The recognition of Palestine is unfortunately a very un-smart political move.
It will evidently prolong the war there.
Likewise, imagine if America recognized Ukranian Crimea and the Ukrainian Donbas oblasts as being Russian one day... that would be just as crazy as recognizing Palestine - a move that would escalate the war like crazy - “peace in our time” as the naive Chamberlain once said.
