The FCC chimed in, but my understanding is that he was fired when the two biggest groups of affiliates informed ABC they would preempt his show and run something else. And that was as a result of angry advertisers.
ABC told him he needed to smooth it out and basically apologize. He said he was gonna double down...
He fired himself. Looks like the FCC role was very small to non-existent. It woulda happened without the FCC at all.
Absolutely. I see it as a business decision, it gave them an excuse to cut their losses. He would have been gone in May anyway.
I don’t give Disney or the affiliates any credit other than making a good business decision.
I think that’s the truth of the matter. He’s responsible for his own firing.
