As repugnant as laughter at the death of another is, we must strive to pray for and forgive those who know not what they do, that they see the terrible error of their ways, admit them and ask forgiveness from all of us and God. And this forgiveness should be given freely and joyfully. There is such tremendous power in forgiveness. I ask that we all contemplate that and offer forgiveness and hope for those who have sinned and ask for forgiveness for it.
May God forgive them, for I will not.

I think giving forgiveness to people who have asked for forgiveness is far different from giving forgiveness to those still actively engaging in evil.

I will let you forgive these scum bags for me. I will neither forgive nor forget. The only praying for our enemies should be that they see the error of their ways and repent.
Individuals may forgive, but for the common good, societies must not.
