But what would happen if an American company did the same in South Korea?
The following article, (complete with a photo of police in riot gear), outlines the strict punishments for unauthorized foreigners and their employers in racially-homogenous South Korea, which increase in proportion to the number of illegal workers and the duration of their employment.
Meanwhile over here, Americans aren't even allowed to use the word "foreigner."
Foreigners who engage in illegal employment, penalties for foreigners and employers
[Their roundup and the US release of video showing some Korean workers shackled with chains around their hands, ankles and waists have caused public outrage and a sense of betrayal in South Korea, a key US ally.]
AMERICA FIRST does not mean perverting immigration laws to import foreign workers.
They were working on the line, true. But it was a bit of a grey area as to how much was training and how much was specifically work. They obviously were working more than allowed.
What is the background story behind this. I imagine they went came in a plane and went through custom so they were here legally.
So did they overstay their visa? Worked without a work permit? What exactly was their infraction?
They weren’t American workers that’s all you need know.
Ah. An Inchon landing. Cool
ICE agent in Chicago made a traffic stop of illegal with a warrant. Perp took off dragging officer with vehicle. Perp is dead. Officer is in stable condition.

It is like many of you won’t take five minutes to read anything other than the headline.
I would be willing to get the folks in Georgia pimping this development for the state still have hangovers and the rest of you shouting about getting the proper visas, apparently they don’t exist as an option for South Korea.
You can tell all you want about playing by the rules,.... How about trying to slow down and avoid self inflicted wounds.
They’re returning to what is rapidly turning into a commie dictatorship.
BET not get
Damn autocorrect.
That was helpful, thanks.
Fair question. When the press have something detailed, I too would like to know.
From the US Dept of Labor: "Federal law requires that every employer who recruits, refers for a fee, or hires an individual for employment in the U.S. must complete Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification. The Form I-9 process, managed by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, will help you verify your employee's identity and employment authorization."
Sounds like more law breaking than less....
