Speaking of Patel Motels, I was carrying some food with me to a family beach trip where we would be cooking our own. I separated out several things needing refrigeration, and they fit in the tiny fridge in a motel room owned by Indian muslims that was needed for one night during the long trip. When I finally got to the beach, I discovered I had left the pound of turkey bacon in the motel fridge. Head fake!
Be carefull, nowadays you might be arrested for a hate crime! I first became aware of the Patels lodging back in the 80’s. My job brought me to Huntington Long Island N.Y. and my boss had rented me a room for the week at a motel on the Island. I was awakened about 10 pm by the smell of smoke and babel. It turned out to be a bunch of third worlders roasting a goat out in the motel courtyard . That was day one and it went on for the rest of the week. The stench was incredible. The icing on the cake was the night before I was to leave my truck was broken into and all my equipment was stolen. Can’t prove it was done by the Patels but I have my suspicions. My boss lost alot of money on that job and was more careful about booking rooms after that.
