When did the lottery start? I’d thought it dated back to wwll. I think in about ‘68 my cousin scored a high number much to his mothers relief. I was only 10 yrs old so I’m not up on the finer points.
Started around 1969 it seems from a quick look.
Nothing to do with the regular draft which I did not sign up for until 1969.
