TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCJB/WCTV) - Newly released body camera video shows the arrest of a suspect dressed as a character at a Chuck E. Cheese restaurant in Florida.
On July 23, Jermell Jones, 41, was taken into custody on credit card theft and fraud charges, according to court documents obtained by WCTV. Parents and children watched as he was handcuffed and escorted out of the restaurant in costume.
A Tallahassee Police Department officer entered the restaurant location in response to a report of a stolen credit card being used fraudulently.
The victim told the officer that after hosting a child’s birthday at Chuck E. Cheese, they noticed more than $100 of fraudulent charges on their card.
Jones was spotted on surveillance video at a store where one of the purchases was made.

At least he wasn’t dressed up as uncle Herschel.
They should have used a big mouse trap.
The victim noticed suspicious paw prints on the cheese.
“You dirty Rat.”
Not that credit card fraud doesn’t happen, but the credit card companies have gotten real good at detecting misuse without a lot of false warnings.
The police department faced criticism for the arrest, which
upset children at the arcade. The CEO of Chuck E. Cheese
high-fived and shook hands with the Tallahassee Police days
later.
