I did not discuss landing on the moon. What I was discussing was walking on the moon. The “treadmill” is the surface...Hint: Walk into the local gym and ask them to run the treadmill at the speed on the moon’s rotation on its axis. (Note: Not the orbital speed—the rotation on its axis.) You can calculate the speed of the moon’s rotation on its axis in feet per second so you can tell the gym the speed you want. Then you get to step on the moving treadmill and announce: It should be patently obvious to you that even if you are on a merry go-round and step off a wooden horse than you are not going to fall down.
